In order to deeply implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on safeguarding the national food security and energy security, enhance the national petroleum reserve capability, carry out the rural revitalization strategy and push forward the high-quality development of material reserve, Sinochem Group and the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration signed a strategic cooperation agreement on December 3.

The strategic cooperation agreement was signed by Mr. Zhang Wufeng, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the National Development and Reform Commission, Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Director of the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, and Mr. Frank Ning, Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Chairman of Sinochem Group, both of whom delivered a speech. The signing ceremony was attended by other leaders, including Lu Jingbo, Huang Wei and Liang Yan, Member of the Leading Party Group and Deputy Director of the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, Jiang Zhenghong, Member of the Leading Party Group?and?Deputy General Manager of Sinochem Group and President of Sinochem Energy, Qin Hengde, President of SBU of Agriculture?of Sinochem Group, and Zhang Baohong, Secretary of the Board of Sinochem Group.

As the fourth largest state-owned petroleum company of China, Sinochem Group has always played an important role in safeguarding national energy security. According to this strategic cooperation agreement, both sides will make in-depth strategic cooperation in the areas such as enhancing the national petroleum reserve capability, pushing forward the implementation of national petroleum reserve plans, comprehensively carrying out national food security strategies, facilitating the building of China into a powerful grain producer as well as carrying out science & technology talent strategies.

Before the signing ceremony started, both sides also exchanged views on deepening the cooperation in the fields of agriculture and energy.
